For too long, homeowners living in flats or properties requiring fire doors have had to compromise on style for the sake of safety. The choice was often limited to bland, industrial-looking timber doors.
That changes today. KJM Group is proud to launch the new Fire Stop Doors Collection to our customers across Hampshire. Whether you are in a modern apartment in Basingstoke or a period conversion in Winchester, you no longer have to choose between kerb appeal and compliance.
Manufactured by Emplas, the new Fire Stop doors combine the stunning aesthetics of a high-end composite door with certified, life-saving 30-minute fire protection for homes across Hampshire.
Safety Without Compromise
The Fire Stop door is engineered to save lives. It features a specialized phenolic foam core and intumescent seals that expand when exposed to heat, sealing the gaps between the door and the frame to prevent the passage of fire and smoke.
The Fire Stop Doors range offers 15 stunning styles available throughout Andover and Hampshire.
Where Do I Need a Fire Door?
Building regulations are strict regarding fire safety. In our experience working across Andover and the surrounding villages, homeowners typically require an FD30S door in the following locations:
- Flats & Apartments: Common in town centres like Basingstoke, the main entrance door leading to a communal corridor must be fire-rated.
- Garage Links: Any door connecting an integral garage to the main house.
- Loft Conversions: Doors leading to a protected stairwell in 3-storey homes (a frequent requirement for townhouses in Winchester).
Bi-Directional Testing: The Gold Standard
Not all fire doors are created equal. The Fire Stop Doors range has been Bi-Directionally Tested. This means the door has been tested to withstand fire from both the outside (e.g., a fire in a communal hallway) and the inside (e.g., a fire starting in your flat).
This “double-sided” protection is a critical safety feature that exceeds the basic requirements of many older standards.
