⚠️ “Standard” or “Free” Triple Glazing?
The Reality: Triple glazing costs more to manufacture. It uses 50% more glass, extra spacers, more gas, and requires heavier-duty transportation.
If a company is offering it for “free” or as “standard,” they have almost certainly inflated the base price of their double glazing to cover the difference.

No. It is warmer, but the “value” depends on your house. If you have drafty walls and no loft insulation, putting expensive triple glazing in is like putting a gold door on a shed. Fix the basics first.
It helps, but it is not the best tool for the job. Acoustic Laminated Glass (which uses a plastic interlayer to dampen sound) is far more effective against traffic noise than simply adding a third pane of glass.
This is actually a good sign! It means the window is insulating so well that no heat is escaping to warm up the outer pane. It proves you aren’t paying to heat your garden.
As low as you can reasonably afford. 1.2 W/m²K is a great target for double glazing. If you want to future-proof for 2025/2030 standards, aim for 0.8 – 1.0 W/m²K with triple glazing.
